The new owners are Colony Capital, Butler Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley but they have already stated their investment in the club will likely not be longer than 8 years.
"This investment will probably not be longer than 8 years but we are fully aware of the work necessary in front of us," said Sebastien Bazin the European representative for Colony Capital. "We will be giving the club the necessary investment to succeed," he told a press conference in Paris.
The club chairman will be 64-year-old Alain Cayzac who has been an executive at the club for many years. "We will unite all possibilities to develop the club over the next 3 years," added Bazin. "The financial situation of the club is incredibly stable and we have no debts. We are starting with a blank financial page," he added.
Cayzac will take over his new functions as of June 30 this year. "My project is built around three words: 1 win, 2 win, 3 win! Victory is key to all success. We must knock down and rebuild the club on solid foundations," said Cayzac.
The future of current president Pierre Blayau remains uncertain although coach Guy Lacombe is expected to retain his job at least until the end of the season. The club will also keep its home at the Parc des Princes despite suggestions of moving the franchise to the Stade de France.
"I love the Stade de France and have enjoyed some great moments there but for me Paris SG is the Parc and the Parc is Paris SG. It is out of the question as far as I'm concerned to play anywhere other than the Parc des Princes," said Cayzac.
