The tabloid admitted that the articled printed in August was "totally incorrect" and apologized "for the embarrassment caused."

Hatcher’s legal firm, Schillings, said the newspaper agreed to pay the actress damages and her legal costs, but did not disclose the sum. Another magazine, Heat, also agreed to pay damages for running the same story in August.

This comes after Hatcher accepted another settlement with The Daily Sport in December, in which the tabloid agreed to pay "very substantial damages" and Hatcher's legal costs for making the same claims. The Daily Sport also agreed to print a font-page apology and promised not to make the allegations again.

After the court settlement, Hatcher issued a statement explaining her reasons for suing the tabloids.

"Anyone who has ever entered a legal proceeding knows that when you are totally in the right, it still takes a lot of energy to move forward in this kind of proceeding," she said.

"This is probably why more celebrities do not fight back against every made-up story... But when a story appeared about me, insinuating that I am an irresponsible and neglectful parent, I had to draw the line,” she added, referring to the fact that The Daily Sport claimed that she was using the camper van to hide her sexual encounters from her 7-year old daughter, Emerson.

"I will never allow any tabloid to so egregiously attack the area of my life which I give top priority, and that is my parenting."
