"The Real World" is moving to Denver |
Denver is the new location for MTV’s 18th season of the popular series The Real World. The show features seven strangers picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped.
MTV announced Monday that Denver’s installment would be shot and aired later this year. The show, currently in its 17th season in Key West, Fla, has already been cast.
The Real World has allegedly found its headquarters at a renovated living space inside the old B-52's Billiards on the 1900 block of Market Street in LoDo.
Denver has absolutely everything we could hope for — diversity, activities, energy and nightlife, said Lois Curren, executive vice president of MTV Series Entertainment.
This is a tremendous opportunity for Denver to showcase our cultural and recreational vibrancy to a very large, young audience, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said.
The series has focused on American urban centers such as Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle, and Miami. New York City was the home for two seasons: 1992 and 2001.
According to Zap2it.com, The Real World remains one of the top shows on all of cable TV, leading in ratings among the MTV’s target of viewers between the ages of 12-34.
